How Long Does APS Take? Track Processing Time by Month
APS (Akademische Prüfstelle) verifies academic documents for applicants from countries like India, China, and Vietnam before German admission and visa. Live file status lives in your APS country portal after you log in. This estimator tracks likely wait by submission month: off-peak often 3–6 weeks; peak months commonly 4–12 weeks — longer if APS must check with your university or board.
Peak months (Sep–Feb) have higher volume and longer processing.

APS and dMAT fees
The APS India verification fee is about ₹18,000. Confirm the live amount in the APS portal. Keep the payment receipt with your application.
If dMAT applies, g.a.s.t. charges a separate €150. That does not replace the APS fee.
How the APS Process Works
1.Prepare documents
Gather all certificates and transcripts. Self-attest each copy (sign and write "This is a true copy of the original" with your name, date, and signature).
2.Pay the APS fee
Pay about ₹18,000 (India) via the APS India portal / bank transfer. Keep the payment receipt.
3.Book dMAT if your field is affected
g.a.s.t. charges €150, separate from APS. Only for selected India Master's applicants from Summer 2027. Confirm on the dMAT eligibility checker before you pay.
4.Send via courier
Send all documents along with the payment receipt to the APS office via a reliable courier (e.g. DTDC, BlueDart, DHL). Keep the tracking number.
5.Wait for verification
APS verifies your academic documents. Document checks can start without a dMAT score. If dMAT applies, APS will not issue the certificate until the g.a.s.t. PDF is in the file. No interview required for most Indian applicants.
