Studying in Cologne

Cologne (Köln) is the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and a media centre (WDR, games industry, advertising). Universität zu Köln and TH Köln (Germany's largest UAS) draw tens of thousands of students. The Dom cathedral and Rhine promenade are the landmarks; Kölsch beer and Karneval define local culture every February.

Ehrenfeld, Südstadt, and Nippes are student favourites. KVB trams and regional trains link the city. Carnival week disrupts schedules — plan exams around it. TH Köln's multi-campus layout means checking which campus your faculty uses. WG culture is strong; Kölner Studierendenwerk runs large hall stock.
